We are very happy to be at the "Old City Gate" on a regular basis, because you are spoiled with delicious meals in a very cozy atmosphere. The food is very good and mostly from organic farming or regional origin. The atmosphere is very cozy and the welcome is very warm every time. The operators run your country inn with a lot of love. And you can feel it. The wonderfully good mood of the staff and especially the boss is contagious. We feel very comfortable there and have already celebrated several family celebrations there!

A wonderfully quaint hotel with very clean, stylishly furnished rooms, free parking, WiFi and a delicious breakfast buffet. The restaurant is also a great recommendation, the staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is great. The hotel entrance is currently blocked, which is why we had to go through the restaurant with our luggage, which was a bit uncomfortable, but the hotel deserves 5 stars.

Such a nice and tasteful place, with friendly and humorous people, with confidence despite Corona, with a loving breakfast, with good food and nice rooms ... we 4 colleagues felt at home here from the first second. It was not the first time we were here, and it will certainly not be the last. We wish our dear hosts a lot of work with many more guests 😀

Very nice rooms. Very nice house. Food looks amazing. Unfortunately we didn't get a table with only one overnight stay (dream weather on Sunday). We will certainly catch up. But we slept very well on the mattresses.

We stopped here after visiting Geierlay and felt very comfortable. Attentive staff and delicious food. The stuffed clover with Pfifferkingen are a poem! The photo shows the dessert. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside in the courtyard. The interior is decorated with all kinds of historical household items. So very nice and very tasty!

We have been here several times for dinner. The service is friendly. The food is great. Everything always fresh and flavorful. The price-performance ratio is fair. This restaurant is definitely one of the reasons why we love coming to Kastellaun.

Our 2 days in the old city gate were wonderful. The hotel has a great charm, the rustic touch can be found everywhere. But this is not at the expense of comfort. The rooms are clean and cozy. The beds are very comfortable. The old city gate is also a real culinary recommendation. Breakfast is selected and delicious! But also the warm dishes from lunchtime are from regional cultivation. Also to be emphasized is the friendliness of the owner and the staff. We were even able to park our bikes in a garage for free. Many thanks and goodbye 👋

Excellent hotel and restaurant rolled up into one. Rooms are spacious with some modern upgrades intermixed with traditional touches. The restaurant service is good and the food is great. Highly recommend if in the area.
